  दोस्तों, आज के Blog में हम Transitive और Intransitive Verbs के बारे में पढ़ेंगे।  Transitive Verb को हम हिंदी में "सकर्मक क्रिया" तथा Intransitive Verb को "अकर्मक क्रिया" कहते है।  Transitive Verb को अपना अर्थ स्पष्ट करने के लिए object की आवश्यकता होती है। अर्थात ऐसा verb जो object के बिना अपना अर्थ स्पष्ट नहीं कर पाता है, Transitive Verb कहलाता है। जैसे - He gave me a pen. She is making tea. The police caught the thieves. I will kill you. उपरोक्त sentences में gave, making, caught तथा kill Transitive Verbs है, क्योकि इनके बाद Objects me, tea, the thieves तथा you का प्रयोग हुआ है।  मान लीजिये की हम सिर्फ She is making लिखते है जिसका अर्थ हुआ "वह बना रही है।" यह वाक्य अधूरा लग रहा है। अतः हमे object का प्रयोग करना पड़ता है।  Note - What? अथवा Whom? लगा कर प्रश्न करने पर जो उत्तर प्राप्त होता है, वह object होता है तथा उस वाक्य का verb, Transitive होता है। जैसे -  She is making tea.
