Question Tag क्या होता है ?

किसी भी sentence में हम Question Tag का प्रयोग अपना संदेह या जिज्ञासा प्रकट करने के लिए करते है। जैसे →

You love me, don't you?         →         तुम मुझसे प्यार करते / करती हो, न ?

They don't tell a lie, do they? →         वे लोग झूठ नहीं बोलते है, न ?

Question Tag वाले sentences के दो भाग होते है। पहला भाग Assertive या Imperative होता है, तथा दूसरा भाग Interrogative होता है। दूसरा वाला भाग Question Tag कहलाता है। 

HOW TO MAKE QUESTION TAGS

Question Tags बनाते समय हमें निम्न बातो का ध्यान रखना चाहिए। 

👉Question Tags बनाने में Main Verb का प्रयोग नहीं होता है।

👉Question Tags बनाने में Tense तथा Subject के अनुसार Auxiliary Verb या Auxiliary Verb +        n't का प्रयोग होता है।  

👉Question Tags में Subject के रूप में Pronoun का प्रयोग होता है, Noun का नहीं। 

👉अगर Sentence Affirmative हो तो Question Tag Negative होता है। 

      और अगर Sentence Negative हो तो Question Tag Affirmative होता है।

Example ➤

1    I am innocent,......................?

      I am innocent, aren't I?

2.   You are writing a letter,..................?

      You are writing a letter, aren't you?

3.   Krishna does not know bhojpuri,..................?

      Krishna does not know Bhojpuri, does he?

4.   He made a mistake,....................?

      He made a mistake, didn't he?

5.   Reena can't help you,.................?

      Reena can't help you, can she?

अगर Imperative Sentence, Affirmative हो, तो उसका Question Tag Affirmative 'Will you' या Negative 'Won't you' दोनों में से कोई एक हो सकता है। 

Example ➤

1    Switch on the radio,........................?

      Switch on the radio, will you?  or,

      Switch on the radio, won't you?

2.   Please give me money,.....................?

      Please give me money, will you?  or,

      Please give me money, won't you?

अगर Imperative Sentence, Negative हो, तो उसका Question Tag Affirmative 'Will you' होता है। 

Example ➤

1.   Don't spit here,.............?

      Don't spit here, will you?

2.   Don't go there again,.........?

      Don't go there again, will you?

अगर Imperative Sentence से डाँट या फटकार का बोध हो तो Question Tag 'Can't you' का प्रयोग होता है। 

Example ➤

1.   Mind your own business,..............?

      Mind your own business, can't you?

2.   Mind your language,...............?

      Mind your language, can't you?

अगर Imperative Sentence, 'Let us' या 'Let's' से Start हो, तो उससे Proposal (प्रस्ताव) या Suggestion (सुझाव) का बोध होता है तथा इसके लिए Question Tag 'Shall we' का प्रयोग होता है। 

Example ➤

1.   Let us dance,...............?

      Let us dance, shall we?

2.   Let's go there,........?

      Let's go there, shall we?

अगर Imperative Sentence, 'Let me / him / her / them / any singular name हो, तो Question Tag 'Will you' का प्रयोग होता है। 

Example ➤

1.   Let me do this work,.............?

      Let me do this work, will you?

2.   Let Richa watch T.V.,............?

      Let Richa watch T.V., will you?

यदि किसी Sentence में Used to का प्रयोग हो, तो Question Tag में usedn't या didn't दोनों में से किसी एक का प्रयोग हो सकता है।  

Example ➤

1.   He used to come here,.........?

      He used to come here, usedn't he? or,

      He used to come here, didn't he?

2.   They used to play football,...............?

      They used to play football, usedn't they?

      They used to play football, didn't they?

ध्यान रहे कि Question Tag में Auxiliary verb + not का Contracted form (संक्षिप्त रूप) का प्रयोग होता है।

Question Tag बनाते समय Subject के चयन पर ध्यान देना बहुत जरुरी है। Subject के चयन के लिए निम्न तथ्यों पर ध्यान दे 

👉 यदि किसी Sentence का Subject, Personal Pronoun (He, She, It, I, We, You, They) हो, तो Question Tag का Subject वही Pronoun होता है। 

👉 यदि किसी Sentence का Subject कोई Noun हो, तो Question Tag का Subject उस Noun के Number, Gender तथा Person के अनुसार He, She, It, They का प्रयोग होता है। 

👉 यदि किसी Sentence के Subject के रूप में There, One, This/That, These/Those का प्रयोग हो, तो Question Tag के Subject के रूप में There, one, it तथा They का प्रयोग होता है।

 

👉 यदि किसी Sentence के Subject के रूप में No one, Anyone, Someone, Anybody, Somebody, Nobody, Everyone, Everybody का प्रयोग हो, तो Question Tag के Subject के रूप में They का प्रयोग होता है।

👉 यदि किसी Sentence के Subject के रूप में everything, something, anything, nothing का प्रयोग हो, तो Question Tag के Subject के रूप में It का प्रयोग होता है।
